Casting Directors Kate Evans and Lou Smernicki, who have been casting commercials for 15 years, occasionally hold Commercial Casting Workshops at a central London casting studio.
Our aim for people who attend one of our workshops is to arm you with significant tools so when you attend your next casting you are full of confidence and when you leave, feel that you nailed it instead of doing your performance better walking away down the street!
Knowing you gave it your best in the limited time that you have in the studio will only make you a better actor.
Each workshop is 3 hours long, starting with an intro from both of us with straightforward tips on the
casting process.
We then split into 2 smaller groups, each group working with us individually for an hour, we will go through different scripts, the whole casting process from entering the room to delivering your performance. The opportunity to see it from our point of view, with discussion on performance and finally Q&A's with tea and biscuits.
The overall feel of our workshop is a relaxed and positive experience, with honest and constructive feedback. As casting directors, our job is to bring out the best in every actor we see.
Our casting workshop must not be considered as an audition. These sessions are informative and aim to give actors a chance of enhancing their skills.
We will keep a record of every actor we see but this does not guarantee that we will see you for future castings.
